Aim & Objectives

The BA (Hons) Business Studies is designed to promote progressive learning and develop transferable business and management skills for successful careers in today's rapidly changing international business environment. The issues that will be addressed are conceptual and practical. As a consequence, the programme will focus on the the following objectives:

to develop at final honours degree level appropriate transferable knowledge and skills which reflect academic developments in the field of business.
to develop capability in the exploration, analysis and evaluation of business issues and concepts including an awareness of ethical and environmental issues.
to provide students with the opportunity to unify conceptual and analytical frameworks with practice through a variety of contexts appropriate to business environment.
to produce graduates with a strong academic and vocational background and who are competent in applying business techniques to meet the needs of various types of organisation and business.

Year 1 programme consists of 6 modules and can be completed in 12 months, through open distance learning in Hong Kong.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

· � Foundation Certificate in Commerce from CED School of Business

· � Form 7 with 2 A-Level passes + HKCEE English pass

· � Certificate holders from VTC

· � Year-1 Associate Degree

· � Mature entrant (21 years + 2 years working experience)

BA (Hons) Business Studies – Year 2 Programme Structure

Year 2 programme consists of 6 modules and can be completed in 12 months, through open distance learning in Hong Kong.

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

· Year-1 of a Degree

· the equivalent of 120 credits out of 360 credits for other qualifications.

The programme consists of 6 modules and can be completed in 12 months, through open distance learning in Hong Kong.

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

· � Year-2 of a Degree

· � Advanced Diploma or Graduate Diploma from Professional Bodies

· � Membership of Professional Bodies obtained by examination

Graduation & Recognition

Graduates of this programme will receive the same award as full-time students in UK, a Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree from The University of Bolton, United Kingdom. They will be allowed to use the prestigious letter BA (Hons) after their names.
